NIJMEGEN OPEN NO-GI
Nijmegen Open NO-GI 2025
We would like to welcome everybody to the first edition of the Nijmegen Open NO-GI in the oldest City of The Netherlands, Nijmegen.
2 FIGHTS GUARANTEED
In this very first edition there will be an opportunity for everyone to try out their skills during the competition. All competitors will be guaranteed to fight at least 2 fights due to the round-robin set up. This event will be contested under IBJJF standards.
Maximum number of comptitors
This first event we will have a maximum of:
- 150 adult and masters competitors

Black belts: Costs: FREE
Refund
When your registration has peen paid it will not be able to get your fee back, everything will be used to bring the other competitors the best service as possible.
WEIGH-IN
All competitors have to weigh-in before 12.00 p.m and at least 1,5 hour before your bracket starts.
Pay attention to your starting time, the times are dynamic and will change during the day. Check this link on how to keep an eye on your bracket dynamic time.
Weigh-in must be done in full no-gi.
You have to weigh-in in your competition gear. There will be a zero tolerance at the weigh-in. If you don’t make weight, you will be disqualified and you lose your match on ‘DQ’. All the ‘+’ competitors also have to show up at the weigh-in for their attendence check, if you don’t show up you’ll lose for fight with a ‘No-show’.

DIVISIONS
Adults & Masters will compete
- In a round-robin – up to 5 competitors
- In a round-robin with elimination round – up to 20 competitors
- Double K.O. bracket – 20 competitors up to 30 competitors
- Single K.O. bracket – 30 up to 40 competitors
- The Absolutes will be a single knock-out system
White belts will be divided in two divisions, White belt beginners (0 – 6 months experience) and White belt advanced (more then 6 months experience).
All competitors with more then two years experience in a similar martial art (read article 5.3 in the IBJJF rule book.)
Adults & Masters:
Age: 16+ (adults), 30+ (masters 1)
Note: if there are to few competitors in a division (belt or weight) the organization will move the competitor up to the next available division, this can be age, weight, belt or a combination of these.
Absolutes
All medal winners from the blue belts and up can register to compete in the Absolutes brackets directly after their medal ceremony. The Absolute brackets will be started after the final fight of a belt level has been finished and will be merged into the the fight order.
Note: Only for blue belts and up and adults & masters.
Best academy trophy
After the final adult medal ceremony there will also be trophies for the top 3 academies for the adults (absolute results are excluded).
MATCH DURATION
Adults:
5 minutes – White
6 minutes – Blue
7 minutes – Purple
8 minutes – Elite(brown & black)
Masters 1:
5 minutes – White
5 minutes – Blue
6 minutes – Purple
7 minutes – Elite (brown & black)
Note: if there are combined brackets with different belt levels, the match duration of the lowest belt level will be applied.
GETTING READY
Be at the bull-pen area 3 fights before your match starts, pay attention to the live bracket schedule on Smoothcomp. The brackets will be visible at the weigh-in, but also on the screen your mobile phone at the Smoothcomp website. Keep in mind that it is your own responsibility to be on time. When your name has been called three times and you are not present at your mat you will be disqualified.
COACHING
ADULTS AND MASTERS competitors will be coached from outside the competition area.
Leave the competition area direct after the fight is finished.
Number of coaches allowed per number of competitors:
- 1 coach per team for 1 competitor
- 2 coaches per team for 2 competitors
- 3 coaches per team for 3 competitors
RULES
This event will be contested under IBJJF standards. You can find the rules on www.ibjjf.com/rules/
Note: In all situations that recall a belt difference, the lower belt rules will be applied. – Except in case of a Absolute elite division.
COMPETITION GEAR
All athletes have to follow the rules of the IBJJF, this means competing in ranked rashguards. At least 10% of the rashguard must be showing the athletes belt level.
Supporters
All supporters will have to buy a spectator ticket at the door for €10,- euro. Supporters are not allowed to enter competition area.
Parking
There will be enough parking spaces near the venue, make sure you use the assigned parking space near the venue. The shoppingmall and train station nearby have space to park, as well the neighbourhoods closeby. So support your teammates and help them getting ready before and after their fights.
