How to Submit a News Article
Share news about European BJJ with the community
Do you have newsworthy content about European Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? We welcome contributions from the community! Follow these steps to submit your article.
Important: Editorial Guidelines
We publish articles with news value for the European BJJ community. This includes:
- Tournament reports and results from European competitions
- Interviews with European athletes, coaches, or gym owners
- News about European BJJ federations or organisations
- Academy openings, closings, or significant milestones in Europe
- European athletes' achievements on the international stage
- Major tournament or event announcements
- Calendar updates from organisations (e.g. season schedules)
- Community stories with relevance to the European BJJ scene
Not accepted: pure advertising without informational value, personal blogs, or content not related to European BJJ. The key is how you present it - informative announcements are welcome, but content that reads like an advertisement will be rejected.
Step 1: Create an Account
First, you'll need a free EuroBJJ account. This takes less than a minute.
- Click the "Sign up" button in the top right corner
- Enter your name, email address, and create a password
- Or sign up quickly using your Google account
- Verify your email address by clicking the link we send you
Step 2: Write Your Article
Once logged in, you can write and submit your article through your dashboard.
- Go to your Dashboard (click your name in the top right)
- Navigate to "My News Articles"
- Click "Write Article"
- Fill in the article details:
- A compelling title
- Select a category (Tournament Report, Interview, Academy News, etc.)
- Write your article content using our rich text editor
- Add a featured image (recommended)
- Optionally link to a related event
- Save as draft or click "Submit for Review"
Step 3: Review Process
After submission, our editorial team will review your article. This usually takes 24-48 hours.
- You'll receive an email notification when your article is approved
- If changes are needed, we'll provide feedback and you can revise
- Once approved, your article will be published with your name as the author
- Your published articles will appear on your public profile
Tips for a Great Article
- Be factual - Include accurate names, dates, and results
- Add context - Help readers understand why this news matters
- Use quotes - Include statements from athletes or organisers when possible
- Include media - Add relevant images to make your article engaging
- Proofread - Check spelling and grammar before submitting
