SELECTION FOR NATIONAL GI & NO-GI TEAMS FOR IBJJF EUROPEANS CASH PRIZES PARENTAL CONSENT FOR MINOR ATHLETES REQUIRED Sunday, November 23, 2025 Novara, Viale Kennedy 34, 28100 – Palazzetto dello Sport “Stefano Dal Lago” Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi and No-Gi competition open to all athletes (no membership required), Italian and foreign (including non-residents in Italy), aged 4 and above.

The proceeds of the event will be used to cover expenses for the National Teams competing at the IBJJF European Championships, as well as to provide cash prizes for the best-performing Teams.

BJJ ITALIA covers the expenses of the Italian National Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Teams (Gi & No-Gi) thanks to the revenue from its national events.

• Therefore, all athletes competing in BJJ ITALIA tournaments contribute to supporting the National Teams, rewarding the most deserving Teams with cash prizes, and promoting a more accessible and merit-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Italy. ⸻ CASH PRIZES FOR TEAMS In both Gi and No-Gi competitions, the top 3 ranked Teams will be awarded the following cash prizes: Prize Pool: Minimum €1,200 – Maximum €3,200

• National Team Gi (10 athletes): Adult Gi divisions will serve as selection trials for the Italian National Gi Team competing (expenses covered by BJJ ITALIA) at the 2026 IBJJF European Championships.
• National Team No-Gi (8 athletes): Adult No-Gi divisions will serve as selection trials for the Italian National No-Gi Team competing (expenses covered by BJJ ITALIA) at the 2026 IBJJF European Championships.
• National Team Kids (4 athletes): Kids divisions Kid 4 (10–11), Kid 5 (12–13), Kid 6 (14–15) will serve as trials for the National Kids Team competing (expenses covered by BJJ ITALIA) at the 2026 IBJJF European Kids Championships. ⸻ POINTS SYSTEM Team Rankings (Gi and No-Gi) and National Team Rankings (Gi and No-Gi) are calculated as follows:
• Black Belts & Kids 4, 5, 6 Colored Belts:
• 25 pts → 1st place
• 10 pts → 2nd place
• 5 pts → 3rd place
• +3 pts for each match won
• +1 pt for each submission
• All other belts:
• 5 pts → 1st place
• 2 pts → 2nd place
• 1 pt → 3rd place
• +1 pt for each match won
• +1 pt for each submission
• Participation: 1 point (except if the athlete is the only one in the division).

• while covering expenses for the Italian National Gi and No-Gi Teams at the IBJJF European Championships.
• Athletes can register for both Gi and No-Gi divisions, both weight category and Openweight (where available).
• All Openweight registrations are guaranteed regardless of weight division results.

• Brackets will be published on Friday, Nov 21, 2025 on Smoothcomp.
• Weigh-ins:
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (must be done at least 1 hour before the athlete’s first match).
• Competition starts at 9:30 AM.
• Order of events: No-Gi matches will take place first, followed by Gi matches.
• Weigh-in rules:
• Gi athletes: must wear the competition Gi (solid white, royal blue, or black).
• No-Gi athletes: must wear shorts and rashguard (any color).
• Kids under 16 may weigh in without Gi.
• Athletes competing in both Gi & No-Gi may request that their No-Gi weigh-in be valid for their Gi division. ⸻ COMPETITION RULES
• IBJJF rules apply (except no advantages will be awarded).
• For athletes under 16, BJJ ITALIA rule restrictions apply.
• First-round matches will avoid pairing teammates where possible.
• Uniform requirements:
• Gi: solid white, royal blue, or black kimono only
• No-Gi: shorts + rashguard (any color) ⸻ AFFILIATION & INSURANCE Participation is open to all sports promotion bodies and federations under agreement.

All athletes and coaches must present an ID and insurance card.

Insurance coverage is provided by each athlete’s own federation.

• Italian academies can affiliate with ASC: https://bjjitalia.it/come-affiliarsi-e-tesserarsi/ The registration fee includes BJJ ITALIA membership. ⸻ REFUND POLICY Refunds are available only in the following cases:
• Athlete is alone in their weight division (and in Openweight if registered) as of the Thursday before the event and chooses not to compete.
• Athlete has been hospitalized and provides an official medical certificate.

In these cases, athletes may request by email (trofeonorditaliaopen@gmail.com) a voucher equal to the registration fee minus €2

administration fee, valid for one year and usable for a future BJJ ITALIA event by the same organizer.
