3rd ITALIAN TROPHY BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU (GI and NO-GI) (all age groups) Selection of GI and NO-GI National Teams (Adults and Kids) for the IBJJF European Championships CASH PRIZES FOR TEAMS AND ATHLETES SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2025 ROME, via Fiume Giallo 47 (PALATORRINO) INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT of BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU GI and NO-GI open to all athletes (without membership requirement), Italians and foreigners (even non-residents in Italy), over 4 years of age .

All proceeds from the competition will be used to cover the expenses of the athletes of the Gi and No- Gi National Teams ( Adult and Kids) who will participate in the IBJJF European Championships and for cash prizes for Teams and Athletes.

BJJ ITALIA can support the expenses of the National Team athletes thanks to the proceeds from the competitions it organizes.

Therefore, all athletes who participate in BJJ ITALIA competitions contribute to the expenses of the National Team athletes, to the prize money for the most deserving teams and athletes, and to the promotion and development of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

CASH PRIZES FOR TEAMS AND ATHLETES Prize pool: Minimum €2,500 – Maximum €20,000.

In both the Gi and No-Gi competitions: – The top 5 teams, in addition to the Cup, will win the following cash prizes; – The athletes who, by fighting, win the six Adult Openweight Black and Brown Belts, in addition to the medal, will win the following cash prizes (only with more than 900 registrations*). · With less than 900 entries* àPrize pool of 2,500 euros : TEAM – 500 euros to the first classified team; – 300 euros to the second placed team; – 200 euros to the third-placed team; – 150 euros to the fourth-placed team; – 100 euros to the fifth-placed team. · With more than 900 registrations* but less than 1,000 àPrize pool of 4,000 euros : TEAM – 500 euros to the first classified team; – 300 euros to the second-placed team; – 200 euros to the third-placed team; – 150 euros to the fourth-placed team; – 100 euros to the fifth-placed team.

ATHLETES – 150 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Black Belts; – 100 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Brown Belts. · With more than 1,000 registrations* but less than 2,000 àPrize pool of 7,500 euros : TEAM – 1,000 euros to the first-placed team; – 700 euros to the second-placed team; – 500 euros to the third-placed team; – 300 euros to the fourth-placed team; – 200 euros to the fifth-placed team.

ATHLETES – 200 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Black Belts; – 150 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Brown Belts. · With more than 2,000 registrations* àPrize pool of 20,000 euros : TEAM – 3,000 euros to the first-placed team; – 2,000 euros to the second-placed team; – 1,000 euros to the third-placed team; – 700 euros to the fourth-placed team; – 450 euros for the fifth-placed team.

ATHLETES – 1,300 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Black Belts; – 600 euros for the winners of the six Adult Openweight Brown Belts. * The total number of race registrations is considered (Gi race + No-Gi race).

NATIONAL TEAM ADULT GI (10 ATHLETES) Gi races of the Adult age class will constitute a selection test for the Brazilian National Team jiu-jitsu who will participate, paid for by BJJ ITALIA, in the IBJJF European Championships which will take place in Lisbon from 15 to 24 January 2026 .

NATIONAL TEAM ADULT NO-GI (8 ATHLETES) The No-Gi races of the Adult age class will constitute a selection test for the Brazilian National Team jiu-jitsu No- Gi who will participate, paid for by BJJ ITALIA, in the 2026 IBJJF No- Gi European Championships .

NB Before the IBJJF European Championships, the athletes ranked first in the Rankings Adult Black Belts Gi and No- Gi , given the difficulty in obtaining the requirements and/or qualification points required by the IBJJF, as an alternative to participating in the IBJJF European Championships will be awarded a prize of 500 euros.

NATIONAL TEAM KIDS GI (4-8 ATHLETES) Gi competitions of the age classes Kid 4 (10-11 years), Kid 5 (12-13 years) and Kid 6 (14-15 years), Coloured Belts division, will constitute a selection test for the Brazilian National Team Kids jiu-jitsu who will participate, paid for by BJJ ITALIA, in the 2026 IBJJF Kids European Championships .

NATIONAL TEAM KIDS NO-GI (4-8 ATHLETES) Gi competitions of the age classes Kid 4 (10-11 years), Kid 5 (12-13 years) and Kid 6 (14-15 years), Colored Belts division, will constitute a selection test for the Brazilian National Team Kids jiu-jitsu No- Gi who will participate, paid for by BJJ ITALIA, in the 2026 IBJJF Kids No- Gi European Championships .

REGISTRATION FOR THE RACE BJJ ITALIA is the only Brazilian organization Italian jiu-jitsu , which, to give all athletes the opportunity to participate in national and international competitions, has a registration fee for national competitions of only 28 euros.

All athletes can register for both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments and both in their weight category and in Openweight (where applicable) and all athletes who register for the Openweight will be able to compete in the Openweight tournament regardless of the result achieved in their weight category.

Registration on smoothcomp is due by SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12th (for weight categories) and TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14th (for Openweights ).

Registration for the competition will close early if the maximum number of participants is reached.

Registration fees to be paid on smoothcomp : · by SUNDAY 14 SEPTEMBER (reduced rates): – 28 euros for the Gi or No-Gi weight category (18 euros for age groups from 4 to 15 years; 5 euros for Adult and Master Black Belts); – 18 euros for each Openweight (5 euros for Adult and Master Black Belts); – 10 euro discount for those who register for both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments (excluding Black Belts) ; · by SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER (ordinary fees): – 38 euros for the Gi or No-Gi weight category (28 euros for age groups from 4 to 15 years; 10 euros for Adult and Master Black Belts); – 18 euros for each Openweight (5 euros for Adult and Master Black Belts); – 10 euro discount for those who register for both the Gi and No-Gi tournaments (excluding Black Belts) ; · by TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER (only for athletes who have already registered in a weight category by SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER): 18 euros for each Openweight (5 euros for Adult and Master Black Belts).

At the weigh-in during the competition, anyone who does not fall into the weight category in which they registered will be disqualified from the tournament of the weight category but can still participate in the Openweight (without weight limits) if applicable and if registered by TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER .

All athletes over 10 years of age, in addition to their own weight category, have the opportunity to register for the Openweight tournament (without weight limits).

In the Adult Men’s age class in each Belt there are two Openweight tournaments .

Free registration for Ukrainian refugees BJJ ITALIA offers Ukrainian refugee athletes free competition registration.

Sports clubs with Ukrainian refugee athletes interested in participating in the competition are invited to write to info@bjjitalia.it to request free registration.

With this initiative, BJJ ITALIA expresses its solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are victims of an unjustified and brutal attack.

All athletes must register their Brazilian jiu-jitsu belt on smoothcomp.

Athletes who have competed in the top division in national wrestling or MMA tournaments, or who have a Judo Black Belt or a belt equal to or higher than a Blue Belt in Grappling, or who have competed in MMA matches under Pro rules, cannot register for White Belt tournaments.

Sports club managers must register their Academies/Teams on smoothcomp – https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/192-add-academy-add-affiliation – and check that their athletes have correctly entered the Academy/Team to which they belong on smoothcomp ( correcting any errors after the race will not make any changes to the race rankings ).

Trainer’s Guide: https://support.smoothcomp.com/collection/24-for-coaches AGE CLASSES The age classes are defined by the age the athlete has already reached or by the age he will reach in the year in which the competition takes place (for example, an athlete who is 17 years old on the day of the competition but will turn 18 in the year in which the competition takes place, can register for either the Juvenil or the Adult tournament).

REGISTRATION CHANGES By MONDAY, OCTOBER 13th, athletes can move independently on smoothcomp in the following ways ( instructions on how to move: https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/89-how-to-change-weightclass-or-cancel ): · in another weight category; · from 4 to 11 years old: from boys to girls and vice versa; · from 6 to 15 years: from White Belts to Colored Belts; · minors: to the immediately higher age class (transfers to the Adult age class are permitted only if you are alone in the category and by sending the request on Tuesday to info@bjjitalia.it ); · Masters: to a lower Master age class or to the Adult age class.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 14th, athletes who are alone in a category or who are in a category with all athletes from the same Team, can request to be moved, as indicated above, by sending an email to info@bjjitalia.it (emails sent before TUESDAY OCTOBER 14th will not be taken into consideration).

Athletes who have requested to be moved and their coaches must verify that the moves have been made correctly on smoothcomp .

Athletes alone in their category may decide not to travel and instead show up at the competition venue to be awarded the gold medal, after passing the weigh-in, and to participate in the Openweight , if applicable and if they have registered.

PUBLICATION OF BRACKETS The athletes’ brackets , with the estimated times of their first matches, will be published on smoothcomp on THURSDAY OCTOBER 16 and cannot be changed during the competition.

KANO KIMONOS EVENT T-SHIRT The event t-shirt, available at the KANO KIMONOS stand during the race, will be offered free of charge to the first 50 registered athletes and will be sold to the public for €12.

Athletes eligible for the free t-shirt must pick it up at the stand by 1:00 PM.

ENTRY OF ATHLETES AND COACHES Athletes registered for the race and their coaches must enter the sports hall from the entrance on the ground floor reserved for them.

To go from the ground floor to the first floor (where the bar is) athletes and coaches must use the internal stairs of the building and cannot access it from the public entrance on the first floor.

WEIGHT CONTROL Weigh-in opens at 8am and closes at 4pm and during this time the athletes can carry out the weigh-in whenever they want but they must do it strictly at least one hour before the start time of their first match indicated on smoothcomp (please note that the times indicated on smoothcomp are estimated times that vary frequently during the competition because they are updated in real time based on the duration of previous matches).

At the weigh-in, athletes only need to show an identity document.

In the No-Gi competition, athletes must weigh in wearing competition shorts and a rashguard , which can be any color.

In the Gi competition, athletes must weigh in wearing the Gi-kimono they will fight in, which can be all white, all royal blue , or all black (under 16s can weigh in without a Gi-kimono).

Athletes registered for both the No-Gi and Gi competitions can ask for the No-Gi weight check to be considered valid for the Gi competition as well (in the corresponding weight category which, considering the weight of the kimono, is approximately 2-3kg higher) .

At the weigh-in, athletes who do not fall into the weight category in which they registered are disqualified from the tournament of that weight category but can still participate in the Openweight if they registered online and confirm their participation.

Athletes registered in Kid 1 (4-5 years old) do not undergo a weigh-in but must still show up at the weigh-in table, accompanied by an adult, to confirm their participation in the race.

Athletes registered in categories without a weight limit must still present themselves at the weigh-in table to confirm their participation in the race.

At the weigh-in, all athletes registered for the Openweight must confirm their participation, otherwise they will be cancelled.

Athletes who, after passing the weigh-in, are found to be alone in their weight category, must immediately go to the podium area and ask the Area Manager to be awarded .

After the closure of each weigh-in, athletes who do not show up for weigh-in are removed from both their weight category and any Openweight .

After passing the weigh-in, athletes must check that the green dot appears next to their name on smoothcomp (if the red dot appears, they must immediately return to the weigh-in and ask to be checked because they cannot participate in the race with a red dot).

COMPETITION PROCESS Approximate start time of the race: 10am.

All athletes and their coaches are invited to bring to the competition venue smartphones and/or tablets in good working order and with a fully charged battery because they will have to independently access smoothcomp to check the start times of their matches and the mat where they will have to show up to fight.

For this reason, after the weigh-in, athletes must constantly check the estimated start times of their matches on smoothcomp , which vary frequently because they are updated in real time during the competition based on the duration of previous matches, and the mat where they will fight (IMPORTANT: athletes are NOT called to the mat over the loudspeaker).

Ten minutes before the start time of their match , indicated on smoothcomp , the athletes must enter the competition area and present themselves at the exact mat indicated on smoothcomp where they are to compete in the match, positioning themselves on the correct side of the match official at the table and remaining silently waiting (in the competition area it is strictly forbidden to incite and advise the other athletes while they are fighting).

The athlete at the top of the bracket (green/yellow) must stand on the left arm of the official at the table and wear a green/yellow belt in the Gi competition and a green/yellow anklet on the right ankle in the No-Gi competition.

The athlete at the bottom of the bracket must stand on the right arm of the official at the table.

At the end of the match preceding the one they are due to compete in, the athletes must present themselves to the referee at the table, declare their surname and name and ask for permission to go onto the mat to fight.

Any athlete who fails to report to the referee at the weigh-in table at the end of the match preceding the one he is due to compete in, or who has not yet undergone a weigh-in, will be disqualified.

If an athlete has matches on different mats at the same time, he must ask the referee at the mat table for the next match to postpone his match.

In case an athlete has to play a match within 5 minutes of the end of his previous match, You may ask the Match Official at the table to allow you 5 minutes of recovery time.

The athlete wearing the green/yellow belt or anklet must leave it on the referee’s table after the match.

After finishing their match, athletes must immediately exit the competition area.

Athletes who withdraw from the competition for any reason must notify the Official at their mat table.

After the end of their weight category tournament, Openweight athletes must check on smoothcomp the estimated start time of each of their Openweight matches and the mat where it will be held.

It is strictly forbidden to consume food and drinks inside the competition area.

It is strictly forbidden to step onto the tatami with shoes on.

AWARDS At the end of the finals in each weight category, the top four athletes (first, second, and two-thirds) must immediately proceed to the podium area and ask the podium area manager to award them their medals on the podium (athletes are not called to the podium).

Only athletes who are to be awarded medals may enter the podium area.

COMPETITION RULES For everything that is not covered by this Regulation and the BJJ ITALIA Regulation – https://bjjitalia.it/regolamento/ -, the Regulations for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions apply.

IBJJF jiu-jitsu but without the assignment of advantages (for minors under 16, the restrictions set out in the BJJ ITALIA Regulations apply).

At the first meeting, if possible, athletes from the same Academy/Team will not be paired.

Athletes must wear: · in competitions Gi: a Brazilian kimono jiu-jitsu which can only be all white or all royal blue or all black; · In No-Gi competitions: shorts and a rashguard which can be any color.

POINTS FOR ACADEMY/TEAM RANKINGS AND FOR RANKINGS FOR THE SELECTION OF GI, NO-GI AND KIDS NATIONAL TEAMS The Academies/Team Rankings (one in the Gi tournament and one in the No-Gi tournament) and the Rankings for the selection of the National Teams (Gi, No-Gi and Kids) are drawn up on the basis of the following points earned by the athletes for participation and results in the various tournaments ( Gi and No- Gi weight categories , Openweight Gi and No- Gi ) : · in Black Belts : 125 points to the 1st placed athlete, 50 points to the 2nd placed athlete, 25 points to the 3rd placed athletes (+ 15 points for each match fought and won and + 5 points for each finish); · in all other Belts : 25 points to the 1st classified athlete, 10 points to the 2nd classified athlete, 5 points to the 3rd classified athletes (+ 3 points for each match fought and won and + 1 point for each submission); · 1 point for each athlete for participating in each tournament (if an athlete is the only one registered in a weight category, he/she does not earn points).

REFUND POLICY The following is our refund policy.

Only athletes who meet one of the following conditions: – on the WEDNESDAY before the competition they are alone in their weight category (if registered in the Openweight they are also alone in the Openweight tournament ) and do not want to show up at the competition to be awarded the gold medal; – are injured and have not yet regained physical fitness to participate in the race and send the Hospital Medical Certificate; On the WEDNESDAY before the competition, participants can request, by sending an email to info@bjjitalia.it , to withdraw from the competition and receive a coupon for the amount paid for the competition registration, minus 2 euros for administrative costs, and valid for one year, which can be used to register for a future BJJ ITALIA competition of the same organizer (emails sent before the WEDNESDAY before the competition will not be taken into consideration).
