Faris Benlamkadem Seminar – Fundraiser Seminar
A seminar for a good cause! šš½ We’re really excited to haveĀ @beingfarisĀ teach a fundraising seminar at Hillingdon BJJ. Jiu-Jitsu is all about community and as a club we wanted to help a member of the HBJJ community that needs our support.
With Cancer being a disease that has impacted so many, many of us have seen and felt how devastating it can be. With treatment options for rare cancers limited in the UK, we are fundraising to help one of our members get the urgent treatment he needs abroad. Faris will be teaching a 1.5 hour Gi seminar, sharing some of his favourite, competition tested techniques. With a wealth of experience not just as a competitor but as an instructor, this isn’t to be missed. All money raised at this seminar will go to the treatment costs.
Nigelās Story:
In November Nigel was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM) ā an aggressive form of brain cancer. A purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu, NigeI had been fit and healthy before receiving the news of his diagnosis and now he is now fighting for his life.
Standard treatment for Nigelās form of Glioblastoma isnāt likely to be effective and the family have had to look for treatment options outside of the UK. This treatment is very expensive with the estimated cost being ā¬100,000.
Nigel is 41 a husband and a father to two young boys (Rocky & Roman), who both train at Hillingdon BJJ. We want to try and help raise as much as we can to support him in getting the treatment he urgently needs.
All funds raised at the seminar will go directly to Nigel and is family to support them through this time and help him get the treatment that he needs.

Our fundraising seminar will be taught by Faris Benlamkaden, a talented and accomplished UK black belt. The Seminar will be in the Gi and will be 1.5 hours followed by sparring.
Faris is one of the top UK grapplers and has the accolades to prove it. He is an athlete who has consistently perform well across both disciplines Gi & NoGi. Most recently winning silver at NoGi worlds as a black belt.
Over the years Faris has competed on some of the worlds biggest stages with medals at:

AJP Grand slams
Gi Europeans
NoGi Europeans
Although still an active competitor, Faris is also an instructor and fortunately for us, he will be coming to to share some of his techniques at Hillingdon BJJ.
