PUBLICATION OF BRACKETS
The athletes’ brackets, with the estimated times of their first matches, will be published on smoothcomp on Friday 31 January and cannot be changed during the competition .
AGE CLASSES
The age classes are defined by the age the athlete has already reached or by the age he will reach in the year in which the competition takes place (for example, an athlete who is 17 years old on the day of the competition but will turn 18 in the year in which the competition takes place, can register for either the Juvenil or Adult tournament).
WEIGHT CONTROL
The weigh-in opens at 8am and closes at 4pm and during this time frame athletes can weigh-in whenever they want but must do so at least one hour before the start time of their first match indicated on smoothcomp (please remember that the times indicated on smoothcomp are estimated times that often vary during the race because they are updated in real time based on the length of previous matches).
At the weigh-in, athletes must only show an identity document .
In the No-Gi competition, athletes must weigh in wearing competition shorts and a rashguard, which can be any color.
In the Gi competition, athletes must weigh themselves wearing the Gi-kimono they will fight in, which can only be all white or all royal blue or all black (children under 16 can also weigh themselves without a Gi-kimono).
Athletes registered for both the No-Gi and Gi competitions can ask for the No-Gi competition weight check to be considered valid also for the Gi competition (in the corresponding weight category which, considering the weight of the kimono, is approximately 2-3kg higher) .
At the weigh-in, athletes who do not fall into the weight category in which they registered are disqualified from the tournament of the weight category but can still participate in the Openweight if they registered online and confirm their participation.
Athletes registered in Kid 1 (4-5 years of age) do not undergo a weigh-in but must still show up at the weigh-in table, accompanied by an adult, to confirm their participation in the race.
Athletes registered in categories without weight limits must still present themselves at the weigh-in table to confirm their participation in the competition.
At the weigh-in all athletes registered for the Openweight must confirm their participation otherwise they will be cancelled.
Athletes who, after passing the weigh-in, are alone in their weight category, must immediately go to the podium area and ask the Area Manager to be awarded.
After the closure of each weigh-in, athletes who have not shown up for weigh-in will be removed from both their weight category and any Openweight.
After passing the weigh-in, athletes must check that the green dot appears next to their name on smoothcomp (if the red dot appears, they must immediately return to the weigh-in and ask to check because with the red dot they cannot participate in the race).
COMPETITION PROCESS
Race starts at 9.30am.
For all athletes, the No-Gi race will take place first and then the Gi race.
All athletes and their coaches are invited to bring to the competition venue smartphones and/or tablets that are in good working order and have a fully charged battery because they will have to independently access smoothcomp to check the start times of their matches and the mat where they will have to show up to fight.
For this reason, after the weigh-in, athletes must constantly check on smoothcomp the estimated start times of their matches, which often vary because during the competition they are updated in real time based on the duration of previous matches, and the mat where they will fight (IMPORTANT: athletes are NOT called to the mat with the loudspeaker).
Ten minutes before the start time of their match , indicated on smoothcomp, the athletes must enter the competition area and present themselves at the exact mat indicated on smoothcomp where they are to compete in the match, positioning themselves on the correct side of the match official at the table and remaining silently waiting (in the competition area it is strictly forbidden to incite and advise the other athletes while they are fighting).
The athlete who is at the top of the bracket (green/yellow color) must position himself on the left arm side of the Official at the table and wear the green/yellow belt in the Gi competition and the green/yellow anklet on the right ankle in the No-Gi competition. The athlete who is at the bottom of the bracket must position himself on the right arm side of the Official at the table.
At the end of the match preceding the one they are due to compete in, the athletes must present themselves to the Official at the table, declare their surname and name and ask for permission to get on the mat to fight.
Any athlete who does not present himself at the table to the Official at the end of the match preceding the one he is due to compete in, or who has not yet undergone the weigh-in, will be disqualified.
In case an athlete has to compete on different mats at the same time, he must ask the Official at the mat table of the next match to postpone his match.
In case an athlete has to play a match within 5 minutes of the end of his previous match,
may ask the Match Official at the table to take advantage of a 5 minute recovery time.
The athlete wearing the green/yellow belt or anklet must leave it on the Official’s table after the match.
After finishing their match, athletes must immediately exit the competition area.
Athletes who withdraw from the competition for any reason must notify the Official at their mat table.
After the end of their weight category tournament, Openweight athletes must check on smoothcomp the estimated start time of each of their Openweight bouts and the mat where it will be held.
It is strictly forbidden to consume food and drinks inside the competition area.
It is strictly forbidden to step onto the tatami with shoes on.
AWARDS
At the end of the final of each weight category, the first 4 classified athletes (first, second and two thirds) must immediately go to the podium area and ask the podium area manager to be awarded (athletes are not called to the podium). Only athletes who are to be awarded with the medal can access the podium area.
COMPETITION RULES
For everything that is not provided for in this Regulation and in the BJJ ITALIA Regulation – https://bjjitalia.it/regolamento/ -, the IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition Regulations apply but without the assignment of advantages (for minors under 16, the restrictions provided for in the BJJ ITALIA Regulations apply).

The Academies/Team Rankings (one in the Gi tournament and one in the No-Gi tournament) and the Rankings for the selection of the National Teams (Gi and No-Gi) are drawn up on the basis of the following points earned by the athletes for participation and results in the various tournaments (weight category Gi and No-Gi, Openweight Gi and No-Gi) :
