Invitation
We welcome you to the seventh edition of our SIAM Submission Challenge Tournaments on November 30th 2024. The event will be held at SIAM’s academy located in Kampsportens Hus in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event is open for athletes of all experience levels nationalities and academies. We have divisions for both adults and Kids/Teens!
Divisions
ADULTS GI:
White belt
Blue Belt
Purple, Brown and Black Belt
NOGI:
Beginner – Up to 2 years of training (until Blue belt)
Intermediate – From 2 – 4 years of training (Blue belt)
Expert – From 4 years and above (Purple, Brown & Black belt)
KIDS/TEENS GI or NOGI:
White/Grey Belt
Yellow/Orange Belt
Green/Blue Belt
Age groups for Kids/Teens:
7-9 years old, 10-12 years old, 13-15 years old, 15-17 years old
Note on kids/teens divisions: We will merge groups if needed to make sure everyone gets fair, safe and fun matches.
SPECIAL DIVISION
OLD BOYS (+35 YEARS OLD)
We have created a special division both for Gi and No Gi out of respect for the more seasoned practitionors that are looking to compete.
This division will follow the expert ruleset
Weight classes
Weight classes for Men:
-70kg, -75kg, -80kg, -85kg, -90kg, -100kg, +100kg
Weight classes for Women:
-60kg, +60kg
Weight classes for Kids/Teens:
-25kg, -30kg, -40kg, -45kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, -65kg, -70kg, -77kg -84kg, +84kg
Note that you DO NOT have to wear your gi at weigh-in
FORMAT
ALL WEIGHT DIVISIONS WILL FOLLOW A ROUND-ROBIN FORMAT
ABSOLUTE DIVISIONS WILL BE A SINGLE-ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
Match Duration
The time limit for every adult match will be 5 minutes.
The time limit for kids 7-9 years old will be 3 minutes the rest of the kids/teen age groups will be 4 minutes.
Match Scoring
The match scoring will follow the Grappling Industries guidelines meaning the following:
-Matches follow traditional BJJ point scoring: 4 for the mount, 4 for the back, 3 for a guard pass, 2 for a sweep, 2 for a takedown, 2 for knee on stomach, and 2 for a solid submission attempt that was stopped out of bounds.
-All positions must be held and controlled for 3 seconds.
-There is no “Advantage” scoring.
-A first penalty will result in a warning, a second penalty will result in the opponent being given 2 points, a third penalty will result in disqualification.
-If a match finishes in a draw, the referee of the match will declare a winner by Referee Decision at their discretion.
-A match will be deemed over immediately if a competitor taps out, screams, or verbally gives up during the match.

Schedule
We offer every competitor the opportunity to weigh in either the day before competition or on the day of the competition.
Day before weigh-in (November 29th) at SIAM BJJ in Kampsportens hus: 18.30-19.00
Competition day
Weigh-in: 8.45-9.30
Rules meeting: 9.00-9.30
Match start: 10.00
Uniform
Gi: Athletes have to wear a BJJ gi/kimono that fits their body along with a belt colored to match their rank in BJJ(White, Blue, Purple, Brown or Black). The Gi must be clean without visible tears and not obviously too short or too long. The top and pants must be of the same color and patches are allowed as long as the patches on the Gi do not prevent the opponent from gripping it
NoGi: Athletes have to wear board shorts without pockets or with pockets entirely stitched shut. Spats can be worn under the shorts if selected. Athletes also have to wear a rashguard or a shirt of elastic fabric (clings to body). This rash guard or shirt does not need to meet any color requirements.
Registration
Adult
Normal Registration: 250 DKK (Gi and NoGi: 350 DKK)
Late Registration 350 DKK (Gi and NoGi: 450 DKK)
Absolute Division: 100 DKK
Kids/Teens
Normal Registration: 100 DKK (Gi and NoGi: 150 DKK)
Late Registration 150 DKK (Gi and NoGi: 200 DKK)
Prizes
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing athletes of each division will recieve medals.
