Competitions

1. Jiu jitsu Gi – IBJJF rules with Valhalla ruleset.

2. Jiu jitsu No gi – IBJJF rules with Valhalla ruleset.

3. Challenge mat. – your choice of the first 2 rulesets, your choice of willing opponents.

Valhalla Ruleset

This Is how Odin would like it.

1. Takedowns receive double points ✌️✌️.

2. Guard puling or sitting to guard receives minus 2 points

You can pull guard if you want, but you need more than a sweep to win and avoiding a takedown is not an advantage.

3. Illegal takedowns or positions – jumping to closed guard, scissor takedowns, slamming. Remember we are just playing weekend sport and the hospital is an hour away. 🤕

6. Good sportsmanship, fair play and respect for judges decision are qualifying rules.

7. The matches will otherwise follow general IBJJF rules.

8. Matches are 5 mins.

9. In the event of a draw it will be golden score from standing.

Competition matches and Challenge matches.

We will have regular competition matches both in Gi and No Gi plus one mat will be reserved for challenge or practice matches.

Challenge or practice matches can be set up by friends or frienemies regardless of weight, gender or age. Just register your wish to challenge and if your opponent agrees, we will set up the match.  A bracket can be made if more than two wish to compete together.

One competitor ticket is all you need for multiple matches. Entry = you must have an entry ticket for the day or an entry ticket in one of the other competitions on that day
If on the day your opponent dose not show or you don’t make weight for the main competition you may also register for the challenge matches.  If you have finished your matches but are still keen for more just sign on. We will keep this running so that everyone gets a rumble if they want to. Time to take the challenge and get on the competition mats. 💪✌️

Registrations

This event is for both kids and adults. Please enter in your age,weight and belt groups. When we have a clear indication of who is coming we will make appropriate brackets. You will be guaranteed two matches plus however many there is time for on the challenge mat. If there is no appropriate matches for your level, age, weight etc, we are sure that you can find some matches in the challenge event. Black and Brown belts have free entry so just send us an email and we will fix it.

Prizes

We have prizes for the Open class events. As we receive more entries we will increase the prizes.  Right now we have the Valhalla Open Axes  plus bragging rights for being the OG in the first event.

Time plan

Friday 18.00 no-gi comp and no-gi challenge mat.

Saturday – 09.00 kids gi , 11.00 adults gi and adults gi challenge mat.

Finals – of Nogi Open matches.

Valhalla Open afterparty

Some of us will be joining Odin’s army in Valhalla, the home of the slain where we will party like it’s 995 ad.  Venue Stavkroa, Scandinavia’s wildest afterski place in Norway’s premiere ski destination. 20+years age limit.

Other activities

Hemsedal is Norway’s premiere winter destination. Enjoy the slopes with some riding and skiing. Book in for other activities like dog sledding and Winter horse and cart rides.
