At VERSUS, we bring BJJ back to its essence: chill vibes, great matches, and no unnecessary hassle. With our round-robin system, you get multiple matches—no “one-and-done” disappointments—just pure rolling, improving, and enjoying the sport.

We keep it simple:

• No loud announcements —you’re responsible for being on time at the mats. Download the Smoothcomp app.
• Easy cancellations—cancel up to Thursday before the event and get your money back, no vouchers.
• No medal waiting—grab your fellow medalists, hit the podium, and celebrate!

Expect high-quality medals, warm wraps for fuel, and a focus on positivity. Leave egos at the door, forget negativity, and showcase what you’ve worked so hard for in training. At VERSUS, you can just be yourself, roll hard, and share the love for the sport.

We’re open to great conversations and good advice, but allergic to complaining. Let’s keep it about what matters: grappling, growth, and great vibes. See you on the mats!

Divisions

• BJJ for Men and Women.
• Men (adults only): White, Blue, Elite. (-64 / -70 / -76 / -82,3 / -88,3/ 94,3 / -100,5 / 100,5+)
• Women (adults only): White, Blue, Elite. (-60 / -65 / -70 / 70+)

House Rules

Respect People – go crazy and cheer for your mates, but DO NOT Booh, cuss, yell or show respectless behaviour at refs or opponents, or anyone.

Respect our venue – Don’t break stuff and dont make a mess, not in the gym, dressing room, toilets or outside. We don’t like cleaning too 😉.

No Visitors – Just fighters and coaches, except for the kids. Parents can come to anyone under 18.

Rules

Our event will be contested under IBJJF standards. You can find the rules on www.ibjjf.com/rules/

Note: In all situations that recall a belt difference, the lower belt rules will be applied.

Registration fee

This is 40 euro. Early bird (33e) and Late (47e). Refund is 100% until Thursday before the event. Friday and Saturday 50%. Sunday 0%.

Medal (Ceremony)

The medal ceremony is right after your bracket finishes. When you finished your competition and became 1st, 2nd or 3rd, gather your fellow medallist and come to the podium.

Match duration

• White belts – 3:30 minutes
• Blue belts – 4:00 minutes
• Purple belts – 5:00 minutes

We adjusted the standard match duration as we are using round robin fights in all categories.

General

• Doors open 12:00.
• Weigh-in starts 12:00.
• Competion starts 13:00.
• We expect to end around 18h (see brackets).

Weigh-in

Weigh-in opens at 12:00 and closes 45 mins before your first fight. All competitors weigh-in with Gi. Every competitor has to check in at the weigh-in to verify presence. Be on time

Be at least 3 matches prior to yours close to mat. Nobody will call your name. It’s your responsibility to be on time at the mat. If you’re not on time a DQ will follow. Check out Smoothcomp before and during the tournament to see the estimated time of your matches.  Timelines are constantly changing. Make sure to refresh on your phone or check the screens (automated refresh)

Payment issue Smoothcomp

Currently Smoothcomp cannot process payments through IDEAL or Bancontact. We have 3 walkarounds:

1. Cancel your current registration and select another payment method.
2. Initiate a manual bank transfer for 40e to our bank account, adding your name in the comment field. Our bank account is NL57REVO9504624588 Sportcentrum Sportvision. We will approve your registration within 1 week.

FAQ

1. Q: Is the event open to visitors? A: No. Just fighters and coaches, except for the kids. Parents can come to anyone under 18.
2. Q: When will the brackets be created? A: Latest Friday before the event.
3. Q: When is the weigh-in? A: Weigh-in opens at 12:00 and closes 45 minutes before your first fight.
4. Q: I cannot participate, can I get a refund? A: Yes, until Thursday before the event you will get a 100% refund. Friday until Saturday 50%. Cancellation via Smoothcomp: My account > Your registrations.
5. Q: Can I change my category after registration? A: Yes – until a day before the event 15:00h. You can edit your category on Smoothcomp: My account > Your registrations > Edit.
6. Q: What are the timelines? A: 12h doors and weigh-in open. 13h competition starts.
