Paulo Miyao

One of the Worlds Most Accomplished Competitors

Paulo Miyao is widely regarded as a phenomenon in the world of Jiu Jitsu, having achieved success in the sport since his teenage years. He and his brother João Miyao are among the most accomplished competitors in the history of the sport, having won numerous major titles, including the gold medal in the open weight division of the IBJJF World Championship (2013 brown belt) – a remarkable achievement for someone who competes in the light featherweight category (64 kg/141lbs). Paulo and his brother are also known for their work ethic and extreme dedication to the sport.

Shannon, while primarily known for its international airport serving as a gateway to Ireland’s west coast, offers travelers a convenient base to explore the stunning natural beauty and rich history of County Clare and beyond. Visitors can delve into medieval life at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, marvel at the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, or explore the unique limestone landscape of the Burren. The area also provides opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, alongside charming local towns and a friendly atmosphere.
The Venues
The camp is nestled in the scenic County Clare, in the heart of the Irish mid-west, just a 40-minute drive from the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way coastline. The Shannon Jiu-Jitsu Academy (located 15 mins from Shannon Airport – See FAQ) will serve as the training base. The academy boasts a spacious 225m² training area, equipped with high-quality Zebra mats—equivalent to four full-sized IBJJF competition mats—ensuring a safe and professional environment for all participants.
