Location

Şirince

The village of Şirince is the perfect synthesis of Turkish-Greek culture. In the past it was a Greek Orthodox village, very close to the ancient city of Ephesus (today Selçuk town). The village is a wonderful place where you can see old fashioned houses made of stone, covered with red-tiled rooftops, between the narrow streets and colorful fruit orchards. The traditional bazaar is one of the places you must visit, try the local homemade wine and see the unique lace made by the local women. Another place you must visit is the Ancient City of Ephesus, only 15-20 mins from the camp facilities. The city is one of the biggest ancient Greek cities that stands today. It is famous because there you can find one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550BC). Other monumental buildings you can see are the Library of Celsus, and a theatre capable of holding 25,000 spectators. The House of Virgin Merry ( where She spent her last days), Basilica of Saint John ( Bible writer), İsabey Mosque and Selçuk Castle (Medieval Period) are just 20 mins away from camp location. The nearest beach Pamucak is 30 Mins away from the facilitiesIzmirIzmir
