Welcome to Victory Gi and NOGI Grappling Open

The Victory Combat Sports is proud to announce the implementation of Brazilian Jiujitsu Gi & NOGI open championship.

Saturday 18th November 2023, Jubilee Sports Centre, Liverpool

Registration is now open!

Super early bird registrations for the first 100 registrants,

Juniors under 16 years old £20 per entry

Age 16+ and adults £25 per entry

Optional absolute £12.50 per entry

1st 2nd & 3rd place will recieve Victory bespoke medals. Absolute winner will recieve Victory Custom championship Belt

Spectators fee £5 per adult, under 16 free

Nogi competitor with judo black belt, Pro mma and Competitive Wrestling experience MUST register as blue belt or above or risk disqualification.

Rules and Formats

Competitors for all ages will compete under AJP GI & NOGI rules as per belt ranks with some adjusments.

Juniors allowable techniques

Head and arm choke
Pulling the head in triangle
Omoplata
Darce/Anaconda choke
One arm guillotine
Ezekiel choke GI & NOGI
Jumping Submissions (Grey belts and above only)
Wrist lock ( Age 16+ whitebelts)

Competitors age 16+ and adults white belts will be allowed to jump guard/ Submissions

Blue belts compete under blue belt rules

Match times , Juniors 4 Minutes

Over 16 and Adults 5 minutes

Advantage = 1 point

Penalty = 1 point

* In the event the match ended with exact same score i.e 2-2 the last one to score will win the match*

*Nogi competitors purple belts and above will compete under adults black belt rules.*

The winner will be determined by way of submission and or points, if however the match ended in normal time without points a 1 minute golden score will be added on with the first one to score or by submission will win the match otherwise if the golden time is over without a a clear winner the match will be determine by the referee.  Referee and judges decision is final

Fouls, Penalties and DQ: There will be two penalties warnings for serious fouls, or anything unsportmanlike behaviour! on the 3rd warning will be a disqualification.

All competitors must wear a suitable fight wear i.e GI/Kimono, Rash guards, Nogi shorts/Legging NO T-Shirts or loose fittings clothing.

**In submiting my application form and by way of my entry to Victory Grappling event(s); I hereby waive all claims against any and all persons associated with any of the participating gyms, competitors, the event and venue. I understand that I am participating in a sport that has body contact. I assume full responsibility for all my actions during and connected to the above combat event. I understand the risk of competing in this form of Martial Arts competition and hereby releasethe event organisers and all its employees and associates, tournament sponsors and the event facility, from any type of injury, loss, or death sustained while competing in this competition. I, the entrant also state that I am in good physical condition and know of no reason why I cannot participate in this event. I understand that divisions or weight classes are subject to change based on participant numbers.I can confirrm I have read and understand the rules of the event and will abide by them. In case of an emergency, I hereby authorise any licensed medical personnel to perform any acceptedmedical procedure deemed necessary and I agree to bear the expense of any such treatment. I also understand and agree that my attendance and/or performance at the tournament may be photographed, filmed, and/or taped and used by Victory Grappling or any sponsors for broadcast or reproduction for any portable media. I therefore waive any compensation/royalties thereof. If the competitor is a minor, I assert that I am his/her/they/their legal guardian and I grant my permission for him/her/they/them to participate at the Victory Grappling event. Any violation of the above policy will result in immediate forfeiture of registration fees and disqualification from the current event and may result in disqualification from future events held by Victory Grappling.Victory Grappling enforces zero tolerance on disrespect, threatening with physical violence, or verbally abusing towards anyone during the event. If any coach, competitor, friends, or family of competitors threatens or abuses anyone within the event in any shape or form, they will be escortedout of the building and their team may be banned from any future events. By applying and/or participating in any Victory Grappling events, I confirm that I have read and agreeto all its terms and I acknowledge that by authorising payment I am consenting fully to all terms and conditions contained herein.
