European Grapplers Confirmed for ADCC World Championship 2026 in Kraków

The 2026 ADCC World Championship is heading to Europe. On September 12-13, the TAURON Arena in Kraków, Poland will host the most prestigious submission grappling tournament in the world, marking the first time the event has been held in the country. With the biggest names in the sport expected to compete, anticipation is already building - and for European fans, there is plenty to be excited about. A number of European grapplers have already secured their spots in the lineup.
Names to Watch
Among the confirmed European athletes, a few names stand out. Poland's Adam Wardziński, best known for his success in gi competition where he has claimed multiple major titles in recent years, has been invited to prove himself on the biggest stage in no-gi grappling. The butterfly guard specialist will be competing on home soil, and after a dominant 2025 season, he will look to make a deep run in front of a Polish crowd.
Fellow Pole Pawel Jaworski earned his spot by winning the European, African, & Middle East Trials at -88kg. Jaworski has been on a tear in recent years, including a shot at the ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling title earlier this year against Tye Ruotolo.
A surprising addition to the card is Mateusz Gamrot, the UFC lightweight contender. A grappling standout before his MMA career, the Polish fighter adds a rare MMA-to-grappling crossover to the card - and with the event in his home country, expect a loud reception.
Also at -77kg, ADCC veteran Mateusz Szczeciński returns to the biggest stage in submission grappling. A Polaris champion known for his aggressive guard and submission-hunting style, Szczeciński has established himself as one of the standout representatives of the new generation of European grapplers. Like Wardziński and Gamrot, he will compete on home soil in Kraków.
With five athletes across four weight classes, Poland has a strong presence at this year's ADCC Worlds - and all of them will be competing on home soil. Poland has emerged as one of the strongest grappling nations in Europe, and Kraków will give these athletes a home crowd advantage rarely seen at ADCC.
At -99kg, The UK's Eoghan O'Flanaghan qualified through the European, African, & Asian Trials, adding to the strong British presence on the card. A regular on the Polaris circuit and a previous ADCC Worlds competitor in 2022, O'Flanaghan brings experience at the highest level.
