Pan No-Gi 2026: Pawel Jaworski wins double gold in Secaucus

Pawel Jaworski of Academia Gorila won double gold at the IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship, held from 2 to 4 October at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. The Polish black belt took the adult medium-heavyweight title by submission and also won the open class.
Jaworski came to New Jersey as the defending champion. He won the Pan No-Gi in 2025, his rookie year at black belt, when he also won the IBJJF European and World No-Gi titles and the ADCC Europe, Middle East and Africa Trials. Before this year's event he trained at Studio 1908 with Paulo and João Miyao.
Two divisions, several finishes
He started with the open class on Saturday. He finished his second absolute match with a heel hook and was through to the open-class final by the end of the day. On Sunday he returned for the medium-heavyweight bracket. In the quarter-final he beat Luan Veras on advantages, then submitted his semi-final opponent with a heel hook to reach the final. He won the final by submission and later that day closed out the absolute to complete the double.
Further gold for Academia Gorila
Jaworski was not the only medallist from the Polish academy. A teammate in their first year at black belt won their weight category after three matches. The same athlete also took bronze in the open class, winning twice before losing in the semi-final. In their post they said they were proud of the whole Academia Gorila team's results and said the European Championship is three weeks away.
