Polish Rising Star Pawel Jaworski Challenges Tye Ruotolo for ONE Welterweight Title

The 21‑year‑old Pawel Jaworski, a black belt from Academia Gorila in Poland, has rapidly climbed the global grappling ladder over the past two years. He earned his black belt at just 21 and has since captured major IBJJF no‑gi titles, including double gold at the 2025 IBJJF European No‑Gi in the medium‑heavy and open‑class divisions. Jaworski also dominated the ADCC European Trials in 2025, winning the under‑88 kg bracket with a perfect record and earning recognition as one of grappling’s most dangerous prospects.
Standing in his way is American champion Tye Ruotolo, who captured the inaugural ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Title at ONE Fight Night 16 in November 2023 with a decision win over Magomed Abdulkadirov. Ruotolo (4–0 in ONE submission grappling) has since defended the belt against Josef Chen and Dante Leon, mixing suffocating top pressure with explosive scrambles. The 22‑year‑old has also gone 2–0 in MMA under the ONE banner, showcasing his high‑level pressure and finishing instincts across formats.
Pawel Jaworski represents the new wave of European grappling talent stepping onto the world stage. His challenge against Ruotolo is not just a personal milestone, but a statement that Europe is producing world‑class competitors capable of fighting for top titles in the biggest organizations.
ONE Fight Night 41 will be broadcast live to fans worldwide through Prime Video in select regions and ONE Championship’s official platforms and local partners. With both men known for finishes and high‑octane action, the match between Tye Ruotolo and Pawel Jaworski is shaping up as one of the most anticipated grappling bouts of early 2026.
